This initiative promotes girl’s literacy through reading, writing and creativity using the girls club approach in Ghanaian schools.

The project uses LitWorlds 7 strengths as the foundational model for the curriculum of litclubs.

Litclub activities combine resilience building activities with literacy best practices in sets of dynamic lessons around the themes of Belonging, Friendship, Confidence, Curiosity, Courage, Kindness and Hope.

It also creates the opportunity for women and girls to share their stories of achieving successes and overcoming challenges, supported by powerful mentorship.

Adolescent Reproductive Health Education

The Ceinode Ghana Adolescent Reproductive Health project addresses lack of school and community based adolescent sexual and reproductive health programmes reaching the adolescents where they are, without creating the stigmas that are associated with them going to the clinics.

The project touches on the issues of Abortion, Teenage pregnancy and Personal hygiene as it contributes to recording low academic performances especially among girls.

Teenage pregnancy for example has led to some dropouts recorded over the years.

Stand Up for Girls

On the United Nations International Day of the Girl on every October 11, communities around the world host events to celebrate girls and raise awareness about the unique strengths and challenges of girls globally. In Ghana, Ceinode Ghana leads the Stand Up for Girls movement to take action to honor the stories of girls and inspire individuals, schools and communities to join a movement that promotes girl’s education. We take action, highlighting the stories of girls from the world’s most marginalized communities. By listening to girls’ own stories and acting on them, we can build a better world together. Stand Up for Girls mobilizes people of all genders, to advocate for a girl’s right to share her story and change the world. By learning to read, write, and share stories, girls understand that their words have the power to create monumental change at the community and international level.
